Our AML and Verification Policy

We hold licence MGA/B2C/211/2011 from the Malta Gaming Authority, and that licence obliges us to verify every player and monitor every transaction. This page explains exactly what we check, when we check it and what we need from you.

Our AML Commitment

Allbritish Casino is operated by L&L Europe Ltd under Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/211/2011. Under that licence we follow the Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations and the MGA's Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Directives. In practice this means we must know who plays with us, where their funds come from and whether their betting pattern is consistent with a genuine leisure player.

We treat these duties as conditions of holding our licence, not optional extras. Every member of our compliance and payments teams receives annual AML training, and we appoint a Money Laundering Reporting Officer who reports suspicious activity to the Malta Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit where the law requires it.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification happens at three points. First, we run electronic identity checks the moment you register, using your name, date of birth and address against trusted databases. Second, we complete full document verification before your first withdrawal. Third, we carry out additional reviews whenever cumulative deposits or withdrawals pass certain thresholds or our monitoring flags unusual activity.

We operate in GBP only and serve players from permitted jurisdictions. If you reside in the USA, Australia, France, Italy, Spain or another restricted territory listed in our terms, you cannot hold an account with us.

  • Photo ID: passport, driving licence or national identity card, valid and in your name
  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or council tax bill dated within the last three months
  • Payment method verification: a photo of your debit card (middle digits and CVV covered) or a screenshot of your e-wallet or bank account showing your name

How Verification Works, Step by Step

Most document checks are completed within 24 hours of upload. If a document is unclear or a detail does not match your registration information, we contact you by email at [email protected] or through 24/7 live chat, and the review may take up to three business days.

Documents are uploaded through a secure, encrypted channel in your account area. Access is limited to trained verification staff, files are stored on encrypted servers inside the EU, and we never share your documents with third parties except where the MGA or law enforcement lawfully requires it.

  • Log in and open the verification section of your account
  • Upload your photo ID, showing all four corners with no glare
  • Upload proof of address dated within the last three months
  • Verify your payment method if you plan to withdraw to it
  • Wait for our confirmation email, usually within 24 hours

When We Ask for Source of Funds

If your deposits grow well beyond typical leisure levels, or our monitoring identifies a pattern we cannot explain, we may ask you to show where the money comes from. This is not an accusation; it is a legal obligation under our licence and it protects you as much as it protects us.

Acceptable evidence includes payslips, a recent tax return, a pension statement, dividend or rental income documents, or a solicitor's letter confirming an inheritance. We treat everything you send as strictly confidential and review it only within the compliance team.

Deposit and Withdrawal Checks

Every deposit and withdrawal passes automated and manual screening. Our minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal are both £10, and the maximum withdrawal is £10,000 per day. E-wallet withdrawals are processed within 24 hours; card and bank withdrawals take one to three business days. We charge no fees on either side.

We return withdrawals to the same method you used to deposit wherever technically possible. If you deposited by Paysafecard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, we return funds by bank transfer to an account in your own name, which means that account must be verified first.

MethodMinimumWithdrawal time
Visa Debit / Mastercard Debit£101-3 business days
Trustly£101-3 business days
Skrill / Neteller£10Up to 24 hours
Bank Transfer£101-3 business days

If Verification Fails or Delays

When you do not supply requested documents, we suspend withdrawals on the account until verification is complete. You can still log in and play, but no funds leave the account in the meantime. If documents are rejected, we tell you the reason, whether that is an expired ID, an unreadable image or a mismatched address, and you can upload corrected versions at any time.

Where we cannot verify your identity, or where evidence points to fraud, third-party payment or criminal funds, we close the account under our licence conditions. Legitimate winnings are still returned to you by a verified method, but accounts opened with false details forfeit bonuses and may be reported to the Authority.

How Long We Keep Your Documents

Maltese AML law requires us to retain identity and transaction records for five years after your account closes. We hold verification documents for that full period so we can answer regulator or police requests, then delete them securely. You may request a copy of your data at any time under GDPR, and our support team, available 24/7 by live chat and email, will action it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to send documents before my first deposit?

No. Electronic checks at registration usually satisfy us initially. Full document verification is required before your first withdrawal, or earlier if our monitoring flags your account.

How long does verification take?

Most reviews finish within 24 hours of upload. Complex cases, such as source of funds requests, can take up to three business days.

Why must I withdraw to the same method I deposited with?

Our licence requires us to return funds by the same route where possible, which prevents money laundering through our platform. Prepaid or pay-by-mobile deposits are refunded by bank transfer to your own verified account.

Is my passport safe with you?

Yes. Documents travel over an encrypted channel, sit on encrypted EU-based servers and are accessible only to trained verification staff. We never sell or share them.
